Privacy Policy

In short: Sway helps you find places to dance. We collect the small amount of info needed to do that, we don't sell it, and you can delete it anytime.

What we collect

• Your account: your email and display name (from email sign-up or Google sign-in). If you add a profile photo, we store that too.
• Your preferences: the dance styles you pick, your home city / "on the move" setting, and the venues and events you save.
• Friends: if you connect with someone, we store that connection.
• Basic usage: we may collect app diagnostics (crashes, errors) to fix bugs.

We do not collect your precise location in the background. The map only uses your location when you're using it, and only to center the map.

How we use it

To run the app: sign you in, personalise your feed by the styles and city you chose, show you saved places, connect you with friends, and send the reminders you turn on. That's it.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We use a few trusted services to run Sway:

• Amazon Web Services — hosts our servers, database, and your photos.
• Google — sign-in, and venue listings shown on the map (from Google Places).
• Mapbox — draws the map.

Each only receives what it needs to do its job.

Notifications

Event reminders are scheduled on your device and can be turned off anytime in Profile → Notifications.

Deleting your data

Go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, preferences, saved items, and friend connections. It can't be undone.

Security

We protect your data with encryption and access controls, but no system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong, we'll tell you.

Children

Sway isn't for anyone under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for anything important, let you know in the app.
